Latest AsterionDB Inc. now available on Oracle 12c and Windows 10
Asterion Software Version 3.2 now delivers the entire range of AsterionDB Inc. capabilities for deployment on the latest Oracle database (ORACLE 12c) and Windows clients (Windows 10).
Asterion is also pleased to announce that in addition to extending the range of supported platforms, the Asterion V3.2 solution includes new advanced workflow integration to ingest, curate and serve unstructured data. This capability has been developed in response to customer demand for secure but easy to access content that is controlled and served directly from the database.
With this release, customers no longer need to buy and maintain expensive content management systems to store and serve video, PDF or other unstructured data storage. Furthermore, they can automatically apply all the sophisticated controls and policies the database offers as part of their data security strategy.
Asterion Version 3.2 deploys on the existing hardware and software infrastructure as a complementary and non-disruptive enhancement to the Oracle database.
Version 3.2 consists of three modules, dbPluginServer, dbObscura and dbStreamer, and are collectively known as the Asterion Framework 3.2. These products add value for security and database administration as well as for developers and end users.
Asterion CEO Steve Guilford says “We leverage Oracle’s unmatched data control and data delivery for a whole new spectrum of applications that need to include unstructured data. Asterion provides benefits for the entire enterprise by accelerating the application delivery, including unstructured data seamlessly in new applications while also reducing risk and cost. We are proud of the way in which Asterion helps Oracle Relational Databases. We serve the rapidly growing demand for enterprises to manage and serve unstructured data – and do so in a more robust and controlled way than rival solutions like Amazon S3.”
